Our Products
Happy Belly is gourmet dessert pasta collection made from pulses grown in Canada. Our product is a comfort food type that incorporates pulses to provide a dessert alternative option. We are currently launching some of our dessert pasta collection: cinnamon spiced bow-ties with creamy custard sauce, matcha red bean sauce, and chocolate bow-tie pasta with mocha sauce.
You can get creative with our dessert pasta collection by adding your favorite fruits and ice cream to your plate.
The dessert pasta collection features homemade recipes that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways - warm (either boiled or baked) or cold (topped with ice cream). Different pasta flavours and sauce can also be mixed matched.
We are also offering for custom formulation! Let us know your favorite flavor to satisfy your palate and belly!
Ingredients
About Us
We select our ingredients carefully! The main ingredient of our dessert pasta collection is made from Canadian Pulses. Both pasta and sauce have more than one type of pulses. Our dessert pasta is made from garbanzo flour, green lentil flour, and red lentil flour. Our collection of sauce is made from a blend of red beans, black beans, navy beans, and great northern beans.
We are four food science students from University of British Columbia who are passionate about creating new food products. We develop Happy Belly Artisanal Dessert Pasta Kit as our product line for Mission Impulseible 2015 competition. Our mission is to create awareness of International Year of Pulses 2016.
We believe that Happy Belly’s unique stance as a Dessert Pasta will create buzz and conversation that will not only challenge our views of how we normally eat pasta but also on how we think pulses can be incorporated into the different food items and meals that we enjoy. In addition, as pulses are nutritionally dense - we are able to create a more wholesome dessert product. This then also brings up the health potential of pulses to the conversation.
Both dessert and pasta are already commonly consumed and enjoyed all over the world, we hope that with our product we can help pulses gain that same distinction.
